Account & data
Delete your account and data
Bruner is built by Storm Force LLC. This page explains how to permanently delete your Bruner account and the personal data associated with it — whether or not you still have the app installed.
If you can sign in
Open Bruner on iOS, Android, or the web, sign in, then tap You → Settings → Account & data. From there you can download a copy of your data, or tap Delete my account, type the confirmation phrase shown on screen, and confirm. We'll email a confirmation link to your account's address — nothing is deleted until you click it.
What happens after you confirm
Clicking the emailed link starts a 7-day grace period. Nothing is deleted yet, but your account locks: you're signed out on every device, and signing back in gets you one screen with two choices — keep your account, or download a copy of your data before it goes. We also stop sending you anything non-essential while the window is open.
Tap Keep my accountto cancel and get everything back. Once the grace period ends, deletion runs automatically and can't be undone.
What gets deleted
- Your content, conversations, flashcards, study history, and uploaded materials.
- Your analytics identity (the behavioral and usage data tied to you).
- Your sign-ins. If you used Apple or Google, we also ask them to revoke Bruner's access.
- Courses you've authored, unless another learner is still using one. In that case the course stays so their access isn't affected, and anything personal to you is removed from it.
A course may also be retained where we're required to keep it for safety or legal reasons. Your authorship and anything personal to you is removed from it either way.
What we retain
A limited set of records survives deletion because we're required or permitted to keep them:
- Purchase and billing records, for tax purposes. Once your account is erased these hold no personal details — only amounts, dates, and an anonymous account reference.
- A one-way record of the sign-in identifier you used, and any unpaid balance or restriction on the account, for fraud prevention. It cannot be used to identify or contact you, and it is deleted 13 months after your account is.
- Consent records, to defend against disputes. The IP address and device details attached to them are erased 180 days after your account is.
- Your email address, kept indefinitely on a do-not-email list. Holding onto the address is the only reliable way to stop mail from reaching you once the account itself is gone, and we don't use it for anything else.
Your account and everything you built inside it are erased — your name, your courses, your conversations, your review history, and your settings. Apart from the four records above, nothing we keep identifies you. Our payment processor separately retains its own transaction records as the merchant of record. See our Privacy Policy for more on how we handle data retention.
If you can't sign in
Email support@withbruner.com from the address on your account (or include enough detail for us to identify it) and ask us to delete your account. We'll verify you're the account holder and process the request under the same policy described above.
